Swimming pools in Reykjavik
Reykjavik is famous for its numerous geothermal pools. Most swimming pools in Reykjavik are outdoors, but the comfortably warm water makes up for the invigorating chill you experience during your walk from the showers to the pool. In fact, sitting in a hot tub and discussing current affairs is a national pastime in Iceland.
Your apartment in downtown Reykjavik is located close to Sundhöllinn, Reykjavik’s oldest swimming pool, which has a 25m indoor pool as well as two large hot pots on a terrace with a great view over the city.
Two more swimming pools can be found within close proximity of the city centre: Laugardalslaug, which has an outdoor Olympic-size pool and a long water slide; Vesturbæjarlaug, a small and family-friendly outdoor pool with numerous hot pots.
